Distribution & Ecology: Known from a single collection from Campbell Island.

Notes: Similar to P. cylindrica (Japan) and P. subcylindrica (India) and critical examination is required to separate it from these two taxa.
In the New Zealand biota, P. moniliformis, which is known only from the type collection (Auckland, North Island), is most similar, but that species has much wider ascospores (10-12 Ám).
