Description:
Apothecia:to 2 mm across with thick margin
Spores: (55-)70-90 x 43-52 µm

Chemistry: Thalline margin C-, KC+ orange; disc C+ red; alectorionic by TLC.

Distribution:
Thirty five collections from Campbell Island, five from the Auckland Islands.

Notes: Similar to O. parella (L.) A. Massal., which has a thallus containing variolaric acid, and smaller ascospores. Messuti & Vobis (2002) give the chemistry of O. parella as ±gyrophoric acid, ±variolaric acid, ±alectorionic acid.
