Description:
Thallus absent. Lichenicolous, non-lichenized, in hymenium of a Bacidia sp. Ascomata absent. Asci loosely aggregated in the upper third of the hymenium of the host that is not modified in shape or color by the infection, ±spherical, 35–40 × 24–30 µm, with a very short, almost inconspicuous foot, 8-spored, wall thicker in upper part, about 5 µm thick, I–, KI– (internal plasma I+ red, KI+ orange to reddish), with a small, often inconspicuous ocular chamber. Ascospores hyaline, ovoid-ellipsoid, muriform, with 4–6 transverse septa and one longitudinal septum, I– (orange), KI– (orange), 14–20 × 6–8 µm (in water), without a distinct gelatinous sheath. Paraphysoids not seen.

Notes:Endohymenial in an aparently undescribed corticolous Bacidia sp. Known only from the type collection, Campbell Island (NZ).
